Home automation, a buzz word?

Doing my routine jobs at my workplace, I stumbled upon some articles regarding home automation. It’s an old stuff actually, but I’m sure it will be interesting to read. I’ll share it later with you guys. It’ll be a busy weekend gathering enough points for this issue. There are some criterias to be covered when talking about home automation:

  • efficient energy management
  • security and surveilance
  • news and entertainment
  • drainage and watering monitoring system
  • alternative energy

If you have any other ideas, that some stuff are related to this issue. Just tweet it to me: @diblos

    Hello,
This is a long shot but can you help- I’m a composer doing a project on the impact of the internet on our lives and I’m trying to find out what is the sound of the internet. I’m thinking this might be under telemetry (but I’m not sure!). Hence why I came to your blog!
Basically what do I need to ‘listen in’ to the sounds coming down my ethernet cable into my browser.
Is it possible to convert the digital zeros and ones into an audible sound? Or do you know whereto point me?
Anyhow a long shot and please ignore this if this is of no interest.
    Regards,
    Andy Pink

Andy Pink: hi, you do have a kind of really really cool art project. i’m an artist myself and i can feel the coolness… it’s not really telemetry, (cause the data should be useful) – in, your case – maybe need to try akin of digital to analog converter and turn it to sound. you still need to compile it…. coz it comes with tons of data…. ^_^
